School Fundraiser - Terry Fox Run Fundraiser - Terry Fox Run<p>​<span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:arial;font-size:11pt;font-weight:700;white-space:pre-wrap;">T</span><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:arial;font-size:11pt;font-weight:700;white-space:pre-wrap;">erry Fox Run - September 25th, 2020: </span></p><span><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.2;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive event where people get together to raise money for cancer research in Terry’s name.  It is a day of celebrating Terry’s legacy and helping to keep alive his dream of finding a cure for cancer.   Participants can run or walk and most all have fun while raising funds for cancer research.  This year we will be proudly supporting the Terry Fox Foundation in its ongoing work to fund innovative and progressive cancer research programs.  Johnson Street Public School will be joined by over 3 million students across Canada in supporting Terry’s Marathon of Hope.  Please support our school and Terry’s dream, by making an online donation. </span><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:700;text-decoration-line:underline;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;"> Our school run day is Friday, September 25th, 2020.</span><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">  </span><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:700;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">This year due to Covid-19 protocols we will only be accepting online pledges (see link below).</span><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">  As well, students will each be assigned a time throughout the day to run with their class cohort.  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for this activity.  </span></p><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:700;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Our School Fundraising Page is: </span><a href=""><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:"times new roman";color:#1155cc;background-color:transparent;font-weight:700;text-decoration-line:underline;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;"></span></a><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:"times new roman";color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:700;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;"> </span></span><p><br></p>

We ask that parents/guardians report their child’s absence as part of our Safe Arrival program.   When leaving a message about why your child is away from school, please be specific (e.g., appointment, sick - if sick list symptoms, etc.).  If a child exhibits symptoms while at school, they will be placed in our isolation room and a parent/guardian will be called to pick them up as soon as possible.<br></p>
